Our Ethos

At Losehill House Hotel & Spa, we pride ourselves on being environmentally friendly and self-sustainable where possible...

PEAK DISTRICT ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY MARK HOLDERS

We aim to grow as much fresh produce as we can in our own garden, and any ingredients we do need to source, we strive to acquire as locally as we possibly can. We have partnerships with a number of quality local suppliers that we know and trust to be able to deliver the high standard that our two AA rosette restaurant, The Grafene, is famous for. A great example of our local suppliers is our Ladybower Trout from Drowned Villages Smokery, perfect local partner.

The products we use and sell in our spa are also carefully chosen. Our local, home-made honey and beeswax soap is made using natural ingredients.

We are proud to offer a wonderful range of local drinks- Intrepid Draft Beer from the Brough in the Hope Valley, Shivering Mountain Gin from Hathersage, Wireworks malt whiskey and Shining Cliff Gins from Cromford, IPA from Intrepid and an impressive range of Derbyshire wines from Renishaw Hall and even local bottled water from Cragg in the Peak District.

We support local suppliers, schools, charities and above all residents who make up our fantastic team of staff - all of whom live locally.

We have a program of carbon reduction from installing EV chargers to light bulbs and energy management. We have installed a reed bed to more environmentally manage the water discharge

At Losehill the Peak District Environment impacts every decision we make and every initiative we embark upon - we have managed the Hotel with this Ethos for over 15 years.
